HCL Infosystems Limited, India’s premier information enabling company has announced an alliance between its ICT education venture, HCL Career Development Center and College of Science and Engineering in Jhansi. Under the alliance, CSE students across academic streams will be offered special career programs from HCL CDC in IT hardware, software and networking.
HCL CDCs have been launched by India’s pioneering ICT Company HCL, an initiative to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of industry-ready ICT professionals by creating a skilled workforce and making them available to organizations deploying ICT. Today, HCL CDCs are present in more than twenty cities across India.
Announcing the association, Mr. STM Eswar, Head, HCL Career Development Centre said, “HCL CDC courses have been designed to transform young students into industry-ready professionals, who are ready to take on ICT deployment responsibilities without the need for any further training. We are glad to offer the same courses to the students of the prestigious College of Science & Engineering, which will prepare them for a rewarding career in the IT industry.”
CSE Jhansi and HCL Infosystems will jointly select the faculty for the special courses, while HCL will subsequently train them. CSE will provide the necessary infrastructure for the courses with recommendations from HCL. Qualifying students at the end of curriculum will be awarded a certificate and given placement assistance by HCL.
Present on the occasion, Mr. Surinder Kumar Rai, Director, College of Science & Engineering said, “The stunning growth of ICT industry over the years has made it the most desired career destination for today’s students. We are therefore glad to partner with HCL Infosystems in offering our students the education that would jumpstart their career in IT. We are also certain that our students will certainly benefit from the specialized courses, faculty and pedagogy that assimilate over thirty years of expertise of HCL Infosystems, India’s ICT industry pioneers.”
In the world of high-end cutting-edge technologies that we live in today, the students do not have the exposure and training on leading edge technologies, which is so very critical to build the ICT infrastructure in the country. It is estimated that the Indian ICT market is over Rs. 84,000 crores today, 60-70% of which is hardware and Infrastructure software.
A study by Cisco-IDC estimates that one-third of companies are not able to fill their demand for networking professionals. Also according to an estimate by E-Value, there is an estimated annual demand of around 2 lakh networking professionals in the country while the supply is limited to about 60% of the demand. The deficit is further estimated to grow at a CAGR of 21% till 2010.
HCL is the largest IT Company in India that is focused exclusively on providing a comprehensive range of ICT products, solutions and services to the customers in the domestic market. The company has the largest support and service network in India with 3,000+ professionals, all of who have been trained by the company in system and networking integration.
