HCL Infosystems Ltd, India’s premier information enabling ICT System Integration Company has bagged the No. 1 spot in the DQ:IDC Best Employer Survey 2009. The 9th annual survey conducted jointly by CyberMedia’s flagship publication Dataquest and IDC is a comprehensive report on the Human Resources initiatives in the Indian IT companies, conducted in seven cities of India.
HCL number one ranking this year could be credited to the company focus on efficiently managing skill sets of its diverse workforce, introduced combination of unique employment benefit programmes coupled with path-breaking career planning initiative and home grown leadership development model.
Culled from India’s extensive IT industry, the Top 20 Best IT Employers are chosen based on 11 parameters, five from the HR survey and six from the employee survey. This year the survey was conducted in 31 Indian IT companies with 2,935 employees. Out of this, 20 were short listed based on the employee strength, average tenure, average training, attrition rate, retention rate, proportion of promotions granted, cost to company, ratio of the fixed component in the salary and the male to female ratio.
